Dr. Nyla Jiwani, originally from Vancouver, BC has lived and practiced in Oakville, Ontario for eight years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of British Columbia. She completed four years at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine to successfully become a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in 2003. Dr. Jiwani is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Naturopathic Association and is also registered with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy in Naturopathy (BDDT-N).
Dr. Jiwani has additional training in Intravenous (Parenteral) Therapy, Intramuscular Injections, First Line Therapy, Metabolic Balance Weight Management, Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation, Detoxification, Food Allergy Testing and is also a certified Craniosacral Therapist. To remain current on new research in medicine, Dr. Jiwani regularly attends conferences to continually improve the care she gives her patients.
Over the years she has developed a general family practice. Dr. Jiwani focuses on weight loss, women’s health, pediatrics and fertility. Having dealt with many chronic conditions, hormonal conditions and weight loss for many years, Dr. Jiwani felt combining her practice with a wellness centre approach would be beneficial to her patients. Hence, Oakville Naturopathic Wellness Centre was opened in June 2012 bringing together a multi-disciplinary approach to health and wellness. Having all these modalities under one umbrella was created for convenience for her patients and to create continuity and better care through treatment programs. Here Dr. Jiwani is able to treat the whole body and delegate to her team when necessary so that the end product is the complete approach of addressing the physical fitness aspect, the mental emotional aspect and the internal biochemistry of each patient. In doing this, patients can decrease body fat percentage, build lean body mass, decrease stress levels, decrease risk of chronic diseases and create peace within.
Dr. Jiwani enjoys participating in the community to educate about health and wellness. She attends local festivals, community events, and educates children in schools about nutrition, lifestyle factors and Naturopathic medicine as a profession. She has provided “lunch and learns” to many different corporate companies for many years and is available to book one for your company too!
